I started the day with my last appointment with Jane at The Boxgrove! I had decided that, whilst her attempts to relieve the pain in my legs seemed to provide a temporary respite, it was time to accept that there was no real improvement.

Then back home to start blitzing the house which I hadn’t cleaned properly for months. The work was cathartic and I felt very virtuous afterwards.

A tour of Edes in the afternoon for Tangmere Local History Group turned out to be immense fun and then a quick dash around Waitrose before I needed to pick my New Zealand guests up from the station. They seemed to be delighted with the room and later I took them down to the Earl of March for dinner.

I was excited about my own dinner – I’d been promising myself a Fish and Chip supper from The Loft. Weird name eh for a chip shop. I was mighty disappointed.
