Today certainly turned into a red letter one! And the icing on the cake was that Liv came home to celebrate with me! A bottle of bubbly slipped down nicely in the evening!

1 I managed to complete the Corp Tax and HMRC return  having struggled for days to find the right combinations of log ins!
2 I heard from Lidl that they have given a refund without me having to send a passport copy purporting to be from you!
3 I had the new aerial fitted with a new dish!
4 I went racing with Caroline and I won £7.56!
5 My history course started and looks very good and professional- I can’t wait to get stuck in!
6 We heard back from South Downs Nat Park that Lavant History has been awarded a grant of £5000 – mostly down to Caroline and Sara’s hard work – but I did a bit!
7 Completion! £416,000 now gone into the Halifax account.
8 Liv came home!

Just a little bit more about the geegees as my grandpa used to call them. He followed the racing avidly and it’s amazing that I still don’t really understand how to place a bet. The number of times he’d explain, but I suppose it just went in one ear and out the other as most things did when I was a child. The weather deteriorated steadily during the morning. I was stuck at home waiting for the aerial to be fitted between 10 and 12! Caro was due here at 1pm. After a lot of chasing Petrus arrived at 11.50 and promised to get it done. Not really so simple as our walls are thick flint! Plus it was bucketing down. Still it got done and the only thing I have to do now is fit a new socket.

Despite the rain we had such a fun time, Caro chats with everyone asking them for tips! Loads of people I knew, but most of the time we were diving for cover. Lots of laughs and we tried out all ways of betting. The Tote I now know is frowned upon – only for those who know nothing…. I won just once and Caro twice. She and Derek had spent the morning researching … so I took Derek’s tips!

Lots of chat with Liv in the evening – it makes me so happy to be with her – always refreshing ideas and inspirational.
