Such a shame the swim didn’t happen. I’d love to have seen all swimmers gliding apparently effortlessly upstream through the water. Maybe next year we will return and as Liv likes to tell me, I could take part too!

Italian Depth Charge Café!

It’s very windy but sunny and we take a stroll round Dolgy and end up in the cafe recommended to us. It used to be a hardware shop and the central wooden structure was the office. Apparently it was from a ship! We each ordered an Italian Depth Charge, wondering what would be delivered…. would it have a fire cracker in the bottom of the cup? A little tame really – hot choc with a shot of espresso.

Pleeeeeeeeze can I have some of your teacake?
Barmouth Troll Bridge!

Then down to Barmouth to walk over the pedestrian and railway toll bridge. Rog came too. It was enthralling to watch the eddies, tidal drag and waves all competing with one another. We didn’t like to walk Rogie too far today, so we drove the coastal road northwards through Harlech to Portmeirion. But touristy but fun to walk round, especially the coastal path down to the beach. Nowhere nice to be found for lunch, so oatcakes and cheese, a bag of rocket and cherry tomatoes from Tesco and we found a beautiful deserted beach to walk Rogie again! Ha ha he looked so funny with his ears standing out in the wind!

Portmeirion

Dinner at the Tapas Bar in town was very good – and Rog allowed in too! Made our day!
