That mix of dishes was not a good idea for me! I woke at 5am with the most excruciating tummy ache ever! Nothing seemed to help and I spent the next two hours walking around the kitchen thinking I was about to die! Ha ha – such pain though. finally back to bed at 7am and I slept until 9.30am – shooting out of bed as Billie was going to be dropping in! Phew the pain had gone and I just felt wrung out! Lots of lovely chat with Billie who was so croaky after a terrible cold.
I dropped Rogie off at Caro’s at 3pm and set off to Petersfield – so lucky that I’d allowed lots of extra time as there is tree felling around South Harting and I got very held up following a lorry down the steep ‘cycle’ hill. On the train I received a darling email from Tom – made me really happy – just another 9 or so days to go. Wonderful.
I meet Liv and we have time to chat before dinner at Nutshell next door to the Coliseum. I have my appetite back but decide to be a bit cautious. Lots of nice talk before we go in to the performance of Gluck’s Orpheus and Eurydice. It was a magnificent show – a mix of modern ballet and opera. Beautiful music and amazing singing from the mezzo-soprano Alice Coote. We left the theatre on a real high. Home about 12.30am and I listened to the last aria again whilst I pottered before bed.
