Now Tom had told me he would have just one official day off on his stopover – maybe he was teasing – because he also takes Tuesday off and we have another wonderfully lazy day – the weather is getting colder and even greyer – so why venture out? The aircon in the flat is turned up to 30 degrees – it never gets there though – but at least the chill is taken off. During the day we visit the laundrette… before the smellies decide to launch themselves off the balacone. Then on to what seems like a locals restaurant – Los Caracoles. There’s a huge wood burning stove on glued to the floor wheels pumping out the heat. Great service from Marcello – or Igor as Tom liked to call him. The food was a lot nicer – but is still somewhat lacking …

This week is all about sleeping and eating and trying to keep warm. In the evening we meet the crew and supporters for the crew dinner in El Tonel. There must have been about forty of us there plus another boat load! The atmosphere was partylike and everyone seemed pretty happy. The food, again was just a bit sad and the restaurant rather scruffy.
