Mr Meerkat trying to escape!

It’s a funny phenomenon…. I am writing this on the actual day – 2nd October and I can’t remember what I’ve done! But when I’ve been playing catch up I seem to be able to recall most things I’ve done and how I felt! So, wracking my brain, here goes!

It’s very true that when you don’t have to stick to getting up times, one’s body clock runs beyond the usual 24 hours in a day. I’ve been getting to bed ever later and then don’t sleep for hours until a deep sleep and I get up late feeling groggy. So this all changed last night and I put my head down before midnight and allowed myself just a ten minute relaxation this morning. So, up by 7.45 feeling ready to face the day. I must stick to this, otherwise I get a bit sad feeling. All my enthusiasm for my history course did not lead to lots of reading and now, with the second week just beginning, I made a great effort today to catch up with my reading. I will have time out in Uraguay to do loads of catch up, but I don’t want to get seriously behind.

After a trip to the dentist and the refill shop in Draper’s Yard, I get stuck in with more reading whilst waiting for the St Wilfrid men to arrive to remove excess furniture. This house will pretty bare by the time Tom comes home in a year! Wendy and Tilly pop round for tea – it’s lovely to catch up with her – it’s funny isn’t it that there are some people in the world who you feel totally at ease with – and she is one of them. Real chat about interesting things…

Then quick doggy trot and off to German. It was good to be back with my Vienna pals! We had a good laugh and Gisela seemed pretty relaxed. A new chap in the class who didn’t seem amused when I said to him that I wouldn’t forget his name as my dog was called Roger too! I dug myself an even deeper hole when I said that my Roger was a very fine example of a Roger as I’m sure he is too!
