Compost Bins

We’ve squared up the two new compost bins and fingers crossed I’ll be able to lift out the front slats when the compost needs to be turned or is ready. I’m slightly concerned that in the winter when the wood is damp, I’ll find this very difficult. Hmmmmm…. Not much I can do about this now. 

I filled the bottom of the bin with small broken twigs and a bit of moss from a path. Then I added a layeer of grass cuttings to get going then …… I braved emptying the food waste digester. The power hose came in very useful and now it is sweet smelling… well almost. Then I added another  layer of grass cuttings.

I have never been so organised in my life…
