I wonder whether this cheeky grasshopper thought it would be cooler in my kitchen. I found him early one morning on the back of one the kitchen chairs and he was still there waving his antennae when I went to bed. Perhaps I should have coaxed him back into the garden again ….
I found out this bit of useless information … a grasshopper can jump 75cm high! If I could jump that well – I could leap across a football pitch in one go!
How do grasshoppers “sing”? Actually, the correct term is “stridulate” and they do it by rubbing their long hind legs against their wings!
