Larch

As well as trying to remember the names of wildflowers I am attempting to learn the names of local trees! It’s a slow process …..

This is a larch tree – I think! I love the little cones – and the needle-like leaves. Apparently this is a deciduous tree, so I am going to watch the one down the road from me very carefully during the year. I presume the leaves are new as they are a very pretty green but the cones must be from last autumn still. I will watch with bated breath!
