There’s a lot I have to get done this week and stuff I’ve pushed to one side. I need to get my parking space in London let and there’s a chap who seems desperate to get a space for his wife’s car. So I spend the morning, amongst other things sorting this out with Toby. In the evening he comes back to me to say all great except that …… when they got there wit all the paperwork done, neither of the spaces are empty! AAAAArrgghh what a start…
I’m at Goodwood in the afternoon – it is sooooo cold that some of the guests keep their coats on. We are fobbed off with the story that there’s air in the pipes. That’s rubbish – it is the Duchess who says that no heating is required – this is corroborated the following day when, again at Goodwood, I meet the engineer who is in charge of ‘switch on’ and he’d only received the go ahead that day! Just in time to get the place warm for the Schwarzmann’s who are having their £1m party at the house on Friday! The final afternoon of the season is good fun despite the icy atmosphere!
Lavant History meeting in the evening is great as there’s an outside speaker – well sort of… Peter who is a trustee of Blake’s House in Felpham. The talk was interesting though pretty hard to hear as he was a very softly spoken man. Louise and I have decided to go up to the exhibition at Tate Britain once she and I are back from our travels.
