Moonwort

I thought I’d use this flower’s fairy-like name! Moonwort also makes it sound more of a wildflower.. It seems to grow wild all over the place – particularly this year! Whilst out cycling I have seen it in so many of the hedgerows and now it is springing up along the boundary fences of my garden..

The Latin name Lunaria together with the common name Moonwort is a good reminder of how this plant produces beautiful seed pods in the autumn that look like small luminous moons.

The more common and sensible name is Honesty!
