I was very relieved that on Monday morning Mr Beekeeper dropped by to check progress. It had been so windy on Sunday and the temperature had dropped about 10 degrees – that I was worried that the box might blow over and the bees might be frozen inside that flimsy structure. They were fine, but it was important that, until they have built up stocks of food, they get a supply of honey delivered to them.

I was thrilled to see that the bees were already making their own honey and seem quite content.
