Well Ragged Robin is supposed to like growing in damp or marshy areas, but this photo is showing it growing on my wild patch which is harsh, dry and thin soil. I love the name as the flowers look as though they’ve been through a hedge backwards – just like the dishevelled robin I saw on my feeder after the rain last week. 

Its nectar is very enticing for bumblebees and honeybees as well as butterflies.
