Well these little chaps take me back to my childhood – we’d lassoo the heads before they were in flower too much and have a mock battle pinging them off at friends faces.
It also goes by the name Lamb’s Tongue and Buckhorn. The seed heads, left to dry are a great source of food for goldfinches
