Yes the name does mean that it is edible, though I don’t think I’ll be adding it to my newly grown rocket any time soon! I have tried the leaves and find them rather bitter and the stalks are a bit stalky…
But as a flower they are very pretty. I have some which are still quite deep burgundy colour as shown on the right hand side of the pic and some are fully flowering. On the left side is sorrel.
