The Hive is a visual tribute to Britain’s honeybees. It was designed by UK based artist Wolfgang Buttress for the 2015 Milan Expo. It is installed in the middle of a wildflower meadow at Kew and one thousand LED lights glow according to the vibrations of the bees around. A musical symphony adds to the ambience – all pieces are played in the key of C Major – the very key that bees buzz in.
